Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network: Community of Practice

November 18, 2020 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network is committed to supporting health and service professionals to provide skilled and compassionate bereavement care.  We heard you when you asked for more information and support.  Please join us to form a Community of Practice where we can all connect with one another to share our ideas, triumphs, and struggles.

The monthly Community of Practice is meant to be interactive, informative, and supportive.  We are seeking representation from across Ontario and will be monitoring registration to allow for this.  The number of participants may be limited, so please only register if you are able to commit to attending.  If you have more than one person from your organization that would like to participate, we ask that you only have 1 person register per session.

Topic: Creating a memorial event for families/communities

Zoom details: Will be sent when registration complete

Kelly Polci Bio:

Kelly Polci, MSW, RSW graduated from her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto in 2008.  She has worked at Sunnybrook since 2008 initially in the Schulich Heart Program.  In 2010, she moved to her position in the Women & Babies Program.  Kelly’s passions within this role are bioethics, supporting our bereaved parents, and parental mental health.

Suzie O’Regan Bio:

As the Special Projects Coordinator, Suzie oversees a wide range of initiatives, including PAIL Network’s commemorative events, volunteer onboarding and engagement events, and Compassionate Care Workshops.  She also works behind the scenes to develop internal processes and database training for staff and peer-volunteers.

Before joining PAIL Network in 2017, Suzie spent over 12 years working as a teacher and program coordinator in the not-for-profit sector supporting children living with serious illness and their families.  She has had the privilege to teach in Toronto, and internationally in Jamaica, South Korea, and Australia.  She has recently completed her Certificate in Children’s Grief and Bereavement at the SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, and is passionate about building inclusive spaces and providing opportunities for people to grieve and be supported by community.

When she isn’t working, Suzie can likely be found exploring ravines and forests with her family, cooking traditional Lebanese food, or painting in her garden.
