Virtual Inaugural Student-focused Compassionate Care Workshop

November 22 @ 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

We’re thrilled to extend an invitation to our Inaugural Student-focused Compassionate Care Workshop open to post-secondary, masters or med students all over Ontario.

Join us for a FREE one day (8-hour) educational session for post-secondary, masters or med students in Ontario who will provide care, services, or support to bereaved parents and families during the loss of their pregnancy or infant. Students must be enrolled in a program that has a regulatory college. This workshop will bring together students from across the province to engage in collaborative discussions, share insights, and to create meaningful connections with future colleagues as we discuss the unique care needs of families experiencing a pregnancy or infant loss.

Our Compassionate Care Workshop is a full day training session for people who provide professional care or services to families who may experience a pregnancy loss or the death of their baby. This educational session covers many topics, including: statistics, attachment, grief, memory making, what to say/what not to say, pregnancy after loss, caring for the caregiver, and family-centered care. We also invite a panel of family members to answer questions about their lived experience with loss and what it means to receive compassionate care.

Participants leave with more information about supports and resources, as well as practical skills, tools, and techniques to provide compassionate care to grieving parents and families.

Registering for this event confirms that you understand and meet these requirements. PAIL Network may cancel registration for those who do not meet these requirements.

The workshop will be presented over Zoom, and you will be expected to join from a computer/device with both video and audio capabilities. We would appreciate you having your video on for the workshop, and being prepared to participate in discussion. If you do not have a computer/device with these requirements, please indicate this during registration.

Each attendee must register separately. Confirmations and updates are automated by the event management system, Eventbrite.
