Clarity and Compassion: Options for Miscarriage Remains Management in Hospital

Description: When a miscarriage (pregnancy loss less than 20 weeks gestation) occurs in the health care setting, families need support and clearly communicated options for arrangements of their pregnancy/baby’s remains. This is often difficult given ambiguous legalities and conflicting hospital policies.
We invite you to attend to discover how to help families decide between the various choices for arrangements of fetal remains. This presentation will fill this gap, helping inform and support health care providers in the compassionate management of fetal remains. Presenters will review legalities involved, recommend options for arrangements of remains, and offer compassionate care considerations that support families in this difficult time. Sample handouts and resources will empower participants to implement these care practices in their organization.
