Become a Peer Support Volunteer

Support. Connection. Healing.

Peer support is a powerful and culturally meaningful way to walk alongside others through grief. In Indigenous communities, connection and shared experience are vital for healing. Talking to someone who truly understands the loss of a pregnancy or infant, the depth of that pain, and the unique cultural contexts can provide comfort and strength that clinical care alone cannot offer.

PAIL Network is proud to offer Indigenous-led online Circle of Support groups, creating space for families across Ontario to share, grieve, and heal together. These groups are only possible through the dedication of Indigenous peer support volunteers.

If you are Indigenous and have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, your voice and your story matter. By becoming a peer support volunteer, you can help ensure that no one has to navigate this journey alone.

The Importance of Peer Support

In many Indigenous cultures, healing is grounded in community and relationship. Sharing space with others who have experienced similar losses can foster connection, reduce isolation, and honour our loved ones through collective healing. As a peer, you offer more than just your time—you offer understanding, culture, and companionship in the face of grief.
