In recognition of October 15th Pregnancy And Infant Loss Awareness Day we would like to host a gathering to participate in the International Wave Of Light.
If everyone lights their candle at 7pm local time and keeps it burning until 8pm, there will be a Wave Of Light across the world for 24 consecutive hours in honour of our babies.
LED candles will be offered free of charge. Markers will be available for you to write your baby’s name, date or symbol of significance etc to represent your loss(es) on your candle. You are also welcome to bring along your own candle if you prefer.
We plan to meet in the Clifton Hills area near the Niagara Skywheel (but closer to the open section in front of the Arcade and Speedway) For the GPS location enter 4960 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls L2G 3N4 and you will be in the right area.
The agenda for this event is quite simple: once we gather in a circle at 7pm you will have the opportunity to say a few words and place your candle on the chalk outline. You are not at all obligated to speak if you do not wish to say anything. Once everyone has been recognized we will pick up the candle belonging to us and walk down to the Falls, keeping the light shining until 8pm. If you wish to stay later, Niagara Parks has confirmed with me that the Falls will be illuminated in Pink and Blue from approximately 10pm-10:15pm
All children, family and friends are welcome to attend with you but please leave companion animals at home. There is plenty of parking in this area but fees will vary. Please dress accordingly for the weather and consider bringing along a warm drink for yourself to sip while we walk. (there is a coffee shop directly across the road if interested)
We hope you will join us on October 15th 2018 to participate in this International Wave Of Light.
